I believe that architecture is a continuous dialogue — a process of design and construction in which all participants openly share their expertise and creative vision. True quality in the built environment emerges from this exchange, where ideas evolve collaboratively between client, architect, engineer, authority, and user.

My architectural approach rests on a foundation of clarity in budget, process, and program control, combined with an intensive dialogue throughout every phase of the project. Each design seeks a balance between analysis and intuition, context and innovation, structure and emotion — becoming a natural extension of its surroundings.

Beauty in architecture is not imposed but revealed through the way space, light, and material interact. Each project is a unique response to its place and purpose, shaped by flexibility, sensitivity, and sustainability — socially, economically, and environmentally.

Yet, the way we continue to build today has a significant impact on our planet. Fossil and mineral resources are rapidly being depleted, leading to material scarcity and lasting harm to nature, people, and the environment. John Drissen envisions a future where everything we design and construct is recoverable, reusable, and regenerative

Designing with purpose

A single image of a vast hole in the Earth made me realize that architecture must evolve — and that even small steps can lead to meaningful change. As architects, we carry the responsibility of shaping the environment of the future. With cities growing denser and space becoming scarcer, creating sustainable systems in harmony with the environment is essential.

I believe in a responsible design strategy that values resources and minimizes waste from the earliest design stages. Materials must be carefully selected for efficiency, reuse, and adaptability. I see great potential in removable and modular construction systems that allow buildings to transform or evolve with minimal environmental impact.

Many structures have a short lifespan, yet their components can live on. Reused, prefabricated, and systematically applied materials — such as metal combined with TLC timber systems — enable circular construction.

My focus lies in developing flexible, adaptive architecture where design, construction, and sustainability merge into enduring, versatile solutions for the built environment.

Our Services

From design to management, we craft sustainable spaces that last.

Designing Sustainable spaces

AE offers design and concept development of sustainable environments, architectural drawings, technical design and engineering. Our approach focuses on creating functional yet aesthetically pleasing designs that prioritize sustainability.

Environmental and Sustainability Consulting

As architects, we shape the future of our built environment. With growing urban density and limited space, we must design responsibly — using resources efficiently, choosing materials wisely, and minimizing waste. Flexible, removable systems allow buildings to evolve over time.

We offer project management services that cover permit applications, tenders, budget monitoring, cost advice, financial reporting, construction quality supervision, meetings, project delivery, and financial completion.
